Sugababes thrill This Morning fans with exciting announcement

Sugababes sent their fans into a frenzy today as they announced a new tour with all three original members.

Sugababes appeared on the This Morning couch today to share news long-term fans have been dying to hear for years. The original trio, consisting of Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan and Siobhan Donaghy, announced they are going on tour for the first time in over a decade.

Sugababes line-up has undergone multiple changes, with new members phasing out the original group entirely as of 2009, but the new tour is set to give OG fans a smack of nostalgia. The girls spoke withy Holly and Phil to share how ready they are to take on the world compared to when they were younger.

Phil asked Sugababes if this time around felt different from their original debut which they all unanimously agreed on. Siobhan said: “You don’t really realise how young you were. I think that’s why it works now were because we’re older but we’re still kind of young. There’s a lot of scrutiny and we were three awkward teenagers and we’re still not media trained and you’re really hard on yourself but this time round were so much more relaxed and enjoying it.”

Bands such as Steps and the Spice Girls have all previously split up, returning years down the line with a different sense of values, which prompted Phil to ask if that is also the case for them. Keisha said: “We’ have more appreciation for sure and the industry has changed so much.

“I think there’s less anxiousness now of ‘oh, what will people say’, we’re a lot more ready now.” Mutya added: “It feels natural because we grew up with each other and we sing great with each other.”

Siobhan followed her bandmates comments with agreement as she said: “We met up and we did so well so we thought we can try something new and it just sounded as fresh and incredible as it always did so why not.”

Holly asked the trio what the fan reaction has been like, leading the girls to swoon over how supportive and dedicated they have been over the years. Mutya said: “We’ve literally got die hard fans… how they support us and how they embrace us is incredible.”

They added how excited to get back on tour and rekindle what the original Sugababes are all about and hope “they make the fans happy.” Presale sign up for the tour is available here.
